Jeff Seul

Jeff Seul is a negotiation and conflict transformation scholar, advisor, and facilitator who has spent nearly four decades helping people reach agreement in their toughest deals and disputes—conflicts often driven as much or more by competing values than by the immense economic value at stake. His courses at Harvard focus on conflicts involving our foundational beliefs, core values, and deepest personal and social commitments, often with money and other important things we regard as less sacred in the mix.

Jeff serves as co-chair of the Peace Appeal, an international NGO, founded with a mandate from Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, and other Nobel Peace Laureates, to help local stakeholders launch and sustain peace and national dialogue processes to end or avoid wars. He chairs the technology industry group and co-chairs the emerging companies and venture capital team at a major law firm. Jeff has negotiated major deals for leading tech companies large and small and advised or mediated in a broad range of conflicts, from family and labor disputes, to schisms within corporations and religious communities, to wars. He has been involved in conflict transformation efforts in the Middle East for many years.

Jeff is a Rōshi (master/senior teacher) in the White Plum lineage of Zen Buddhism.
